Write Your Stories-Writing Prompts for Grandparents

Perfect for Institutions or Individual Grandparents

Welcome! I invite you to sign up for this writing adventure.

Stories are a super-power that brings generations together around shared experiences. The stories that endure make-up a family’s history. As a grandparent you can use stories to make your family history come alive. Stories are an opening for mutual sharing. Stories are a gateway for you and your grandchild to enter each other’s world.

Just for Grandparents

Once you sign up, once a week for the next 12 weeks you will receive a prompt. Set your timer for 10 minutes and go! Why 10 minutes? It’s an easy time commitment. For that short period of time you will write non-stop, not allowing any other voice in your head to stop you!

For Organizations and Institutions

Here you will also find complete instructions to create a program for your members or constituents who are grandparents.

This is great way to engage a new audience and to create intergenerational programmming.

About the instructor

JERRY WITKOVSKY (MSW, University of Illinois) is a beloved mentor to thousands of individuals and generations of families, thanks to 47 years of professional leadership, eighteen of them as General Director of the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago.  In 1995 he was named one of the city’s “Most Effective Non-Profit CEOs” by Crain's Chicago Business Magazine.  Since his 1997 retirement, Jerry has focused his considerable energies on grandparenting facilitation—helping multigenerational families work (and play) together to create a rich family life. He has taken what he learned from spearheading a growing number of school-based programs designed to strengthen connections between grandparents and their teenagers and strengthen school communities, and turned it into an online curriculum, called The Grandparent-Grandchild Connection School Program. He writes the Legacy Column for Grand Magazine, the publication for grandparents. Learn more at grandparentsunleashed.com
